Most household and construction debris is fine. A short list of items will get a load rejected at the scale.
Accepted without question
Lumber, drywall, cabinetry, flooring, furniture, mattresses, roofing, siding, yard waste, general household junk and most non-hazardous remodeling debris.
Never accepted
Paint and solvents, motor oil, fuel, pesticides, asbestos, medical waste, ammunition and sealed pressurized tanks.
Accepted with conditions
Appliances containing refrigerant need proper handling, tires and batteries carry separate fees, and electronics may need to go to a Columbia County recycling event.
Why it matters
A single paint can found at the scale can turn a routine disposal into a contaminated-load charge, so ask first and it costs you nothing.
